Commercial Driver Medical Examination| Rules and Regulations

Medical Examiners must continue to use current MERF and MEC.

…That is, until further notice.

On December 4, 2015 the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) sent a bulletin to all medical examiners informing them that the date to start using the new Medical Examiner Report (MER) Form, MCSA-5875, and Medical examiner Certificate (MEC) Form MCSA-5876 is delayed.   As part of the Medical Examiner Certification Integration Final rule, medical examiners were required to use the new forms by December 22, 2015.  FMCSA cites technical difficulties as the reason that the new forms were not posted on the FMCSA and National Registry of Certified Medical Examiner’s (NRCME) websites by November 9, 2015 as was originally planned.

FMCSA will be publishing a Federal Register notice announcing this change and providing a revised effective date.
