A New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) study of an innovative and recently FDA approved treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), that is both a medical device for the treatment of sleep apnea and surgical intervention, developed by Inspire Medical Systems.
FDA approves “pacemaker like” device for Sleep Apnea. Implanted in the chest it stimulates the hypoglossal nerve to keep primary airway muscles open so that breathing is not obstructed during sleep.
