I am pleased to be the recipient of the 2013 Best of Queens Award in DOT/CDL medical examinations. I have been performing DOT (Department Of Transportation) physical examinations for over 5 years now. I am a Board Certified physician in the medical specialties of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine and also a Certified DOT Medical Examiner. Over the years I have had the pleasure of evaluating several thousand truck drivers and have come to know them well, and appreciated their hard work, dedication and most of all their humility. I consider them the backbone of this country’s economy, but I find that they rarely get the consideration and respect that they so deserve. It was also a great pleasure to appear in the past with veteran Trucker Allen Smith on his Blog Talk Radio addressing the many medical issues affecting commercial driver qualification. There were so many questions from drivers all over the country and the 90 minutes we had simply was just not enough. Even though there is a lot of information out there regarding medical qualification standards for commercial drivers, it is hard to expect the average trucker in their busy day to be familiar or up to date with all the new rules and regulations out here from the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration). I hope to be of further service to truck drivers and experts like Mr. Smith in the future.
I have an active medical practice in College Point in Queens New York and I am dedicated to providing both quality and affordable DOT physical exams to all truck drivers. Despite the decrease of Medical Examiner’s able to provide DOT physicals anticipated with the advent of the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiner’s (NRCME) set to begin on May 21, 2014, I am dedicated to keeping our prices competitive and affordable to all drivers. If enough of you complain about anything especially prices in this tough economy, we listen and make the necessary changes. Top quality expert DOT medical examinations is what we provide. That will never change. But money?, hey we are flexible. The majority of our drivers wanted lower cost (who doesn’t?), so we kept our prices low.
Lastly, as much as I am delighted by this award, I know that the satisfaction of my patients will always be the highest stamp of approval that I or any practitioner can ever hope to attain. So therefore, here’s to you truckers. If you would like to read the press release regarding this award, please go to Best of Queens Award 2013.
